David said “I was told by friends and acquaintances that I should have been a reporter as I often wrote articles to the local press and, as my boys grew and played football for various teams, I wrote reports on their games and these articles and reports were always published! Maybe just used as column fillers and not for their significance. I do not flatter myself! However, it gave me a taste for writing and in truth, seeing my name in print was a great confidence booster to a then somewhat fragile ego.”
